Funny story on this one, a couple days ago after posting the stickybuns, a follower on IG stated that all this food photography is going to make him fat, LOL, I told him I'd find something healthy to shoot then and he brought up broccoli. Well, after going to the grocery store today with Myrt, broccoli is actually one of the few veggies she really enjoys, so into the cart went a big bunch. So today I figured I'd shoot something healthy. Awhile back a picture of a potato sold for more than a million dollars, I'm hoping to get at least $20 for this.
All of the shoots I do for this project are done same day. Most of the inspiration, planning and everything else is also done the same day. Sometimes, I'll have an idea in mind but last minute that idea will evolve into something else. It keeps things fresh and interesting that way.
Here is another one on green just for fun.
Lighting this was fairly easy, it was the getting the broccoli to stand that was the challenge. It started with a way longer stalk, and as I whittled away at it to balance out the lean to get it to stand on its own proved futile. The grid trick works again!
Stuck a long skewer in it and slid it into a 30' grid:) Taping it to a tripod or light stand would have worked equally as well. Tomorrow I'll steam some up for Myrts lunch and enjoy a nice healthy meal.
