Korea AT 2017 PT.1 The Journey
Let's see where did I leave off? Oh yes, the AFRC building from Mar 7. Man has this month flown by. Well, strap in because this is going to be a long one. Here is my journey (well some of it at least) to S. Korea for the 64th TC, 2017 ODT AT. (overseas deployment training) (annual training). I will try and expand some of the acronyms here because I know alot of you reading this don't speak them:) Due to the large quantity of pictures I've decided to break it up into smaller sections, here's PT 1 the journey to S. Korea.
I thought a long time on what equipment to bring traveling and I ended up with the Nikon D810, 24-85 VR, Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art and the Rokinon 14mm. Most of the journey I had the 35mm on. All of this snugged tightly in a Lowepro AW100.
Well the journey started back on Mar 7th arriving at the AFRC building to spend the night until our super early 5am flight to Chicago. Don't count on getting much sleep sitting in an office chair waiting because I sure didn't.
Once getting to Chicago we had quite the layover (around 6 hours or so).
After watching the Trolls movie with Myrt just about everyday for the past month, I found it pretty comical that was one of the in-flight movie selections.
Now one would think that after staying up at this point for almost 30 hours that it would be a piece of cake to pass out on the 13.5 hour journey to our next stop. It wasn't. I downed 3 Advil PM's but all that did was make me tired, being in an aisle seat kinda sucked on the way because every 2 secs some stewardess was bumping into me. I slept in 5min intervals thinking hours had passed when in reality it was just minutes. It made for an extremely long flight.
Now another 3 hour flight to our final airport of Incheon, S. Korea.
After all that, we had another couple hour stay at the airport then a 4 some hour drive down to our final destination of Camp Carroll.
